What is online back-up?

In theory it's very simple!  Your businesses data is stored off-site in a secure location with an automated online system that makes sure that the latest version of data is always stored.

How does it work?

We take an initial snapshot of your data and load that onto our servers within the secure datacentre.  We then install our remote back-up software onto your machine, which is then configured to maintain the status of your data on the remote server.  Whether you require incremental or differential back-ups, and whether they run every evening or once per week.

What are the advantages of online back-up?

1. Remote backup does not require user intervention. The user does not have to change tapes, label CDs or perform any other manual steps. 

2. Remote backup maintains data offsite. Perhaps the most important aspect of backing up is that backups are stored in a different location from the original data. In most companies one person is nominated to take the tape off-site, if they forget then it stays on-site, thus causing a potential threat to data availability.

3. Your data is stored in an encrpted format that can only be accessed by you

5. Changed files are backed-up each night to ensure the security of your latest version of data.
